There is some code which has “previous posts” as mentioned in the link you supplied, so I am guessing its not working?

The code you posted looks OK. Try deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

that is weird – there is not even a trace of the empty divs of the navigation that would normally be in the html code from the browser.

is there another php file (maybe home.php) in the theme that could be displaying the front page?

It was a Plugin I bought which is in Beta Stage, I need to contact their support.
As soon as I disabled it my “Previous and Next” postings were working. I just assumed it was the Theme.
