    Hey @salvagemind,

    Hope you’re well.

    I didn’t understand what the problem is, but I tested link sharing with latest WordPress, Twenty Seventeen theme, BuddyPress and BuddyPress Activity Plus. And link sharing works normally on both activity page and profile page.

    So can you try with default theme and only with BuddyPress and BuddyPress Activity Plus plugins. Is that works like that?

    Hey @salvagemind,

    Hope you’re well.

    I understand link sharing is not working for your users (not admins). But there are no settings for that in the BuddyPress Activity Plus and I can’t replicate the issue. So that’s why I am asking for plugin/theme conflict test.

    To make plugin and theme conflict test, you should deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress and BuddyPress Activity Plus, if it doesn’t solve also try with default WordPress theme.

    By the way, are you getting any error while can’t share a link or nothing?

    Yes I know there is no setting for that that’s why I am stuck all other features of buddypress activity plus like video and picture attachment are working fine from user end the only issue is remain of attaching link,, I can’t disable plugins there are so many coding on the website and this is a very big project i don’t want to take any risk there must be any code which enable the link option for my contributer users.. and I already check all user role and everything which related to my problem.. Anyway my project has one more issue please see also this https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/user-end-problems/ Only these two problems I am facing right now all other things are perfect.

    I appreciate your efforts

    Thanks

    I’m having the same issue. As admin I can attach a link, but as a contributor, as soon as you click the “add link” under the preview, everything disappears. Please help.

    Hey @salvagemind,

    I hope you’re well today.

    I understand your concerns about testing, but if we can’t replicate it in our test environments (without seeing) we can’t solve it. So we should replicate it first. To replicate that you should provide us how we can replicate. And to understand that, conflict tests are essential.

    If you can’t test it on your live site, you should install staging site online or local then test it. I already signed up your site and tested, yes I can’t share the link but it doesn’t give any error so there is no way to understand what caused this without conflict test. Maybe you can try WordPress debug logging, for that you need to edit wp-config.php file to put these codes;

    /* Debug Settings */
    define('WP_DEBUG', true);
    define('WP_DEBUG_LOG', true);
    define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false);
    /* End of Debug Settings */

    Then try to share link again. After that check wp-content folder, is there debug.log file? If yes, share the content with us.

    Hey @trev68,

    Could you please start a new thread? According to www.ads-software.com forum guides you should open a new topic even if the issue looks same;

    Unless users have the exact same version of WordPress on the same physical server hosted by the same hosts with the same plugins, theme, and configurations, then the odds are the solution for one user will not be the same for another. For this reason, we recommend people start their own topics.

    (https://make.www.ads-software.com/support/handbook/forum-welcome/#post-in-the-best-place)

    And we will gladly investigate this further for you, also can you make conflict test and WordPress debug logging too?

    Is debug code may any risk to my work on website? is there no alternative code which enable my contributor to share links? what debug code do if I implement?

    Hey @salvagemind,

    Hope you’re well.

    That debug codes will save any error into wp-content/debug.log file without showing them at the front end. So it’s the safest way to check errors. But you know you should always keep a solid backup of your WordPress, unexpected things can happen always.
