I assume that the way you put your libraries in sidebar widgets is to use a plugin to enable shortcodes in widgets, then to put the link library shortcode on each?

Or are you using the Links widget?

If the latter, then that Widget actually comes with WordPress and is not related to Link Library, so I would have no control over this.

If the former, how are you calling each shortcode? Do you have different libraries configured for each? Or are you just overwriting the list of categories?

I am new to wordpress, so you first comment is a little foreign, but I downloaded the plugin and it is listed with all my other plugins. I then dragged it over to my sidebar areas. Does that make sense?

I think so, yes. So you dragged and dropped the widget called Links to your sidebar area. If so, then that widget does not follow any of the configuration elements from Link Library. It just displays a simple bullet list of links, probably in the order that they were created.

To get Link Library to display links according to the parameters configured in the Link Library plugin, you would need to:

    – Install the Shortcodes in Sidebar Widgets plugin (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/shortcodes-in-sidebar-widgets/)
    – Drag-and-drop two Text Widgets plugins in your sidebar
    – Use the link library shortcode in each widget ([link-library])
    – To show different libraries, you could either use different library setting configurations, or use shortcode parameters to specify which categories should be displayed (https://ylefebvre.ca/wppluginsdoc/index.php?title=Category_selection)

Let me know if you have any questions on these steps. You can find more information on the documentation wiki found in the last bullet.

Oh ok, thanks. All of the other times the ranking function has worked just fine for me, I thought I was suing link library, because the links option on the left toolbar only showed up once I downloaded it.

I think you suggestion is a bit complicated for me but thanks so much for your help anyways!
