Link Text behavior change with upgrade to rely 4.2

I just upgraded from 4.1.x to 4.2. Since then the Link Text has become the on page text in the link option of the web page editor. The link text used to be the mouse hover text only which is as it should be. That way, the on page text used for the link would be separate and possibly different from the text you see when you hover your mouse over the link. The on page text used for the link would be entered in the edit window not in the link dialog window. This is as it should be. I can’t believe this is an intentional (very frustrating) change. What gives?
