I searched for a solution for this but only came across older posts and most snippets seemed outdated for the current version. I am using the Tempura template and not sure what I did or if it is a bug. I have set images in the post to align center, link to attachment page but when you click on the image it just stays on the original post. On hover of the image, I can see in the browser status bar that the attachment_id is there but it is being redirected to the post when you click. I have also gone in and set the post to format Gallery instead of Standard and it puts thumbs in a horizontal line that when clicked, reacts the same way. I would like to easily set posts up so that if you click on the image it takes you to a page with the single image so they can share or pull up in lightbox overlay type environment and you can share.

I am not sure if it is my template, a setting I have off with Permalinks or what. I have noticed others with this problem with mixed results so I am not clear as to the best way to fix this. I don’t want to use a plugin like mosaic or a next navigating gallery. I want to keep the scroll layout I have now if possible.

    Here is an example post

Thank you for your time and any help with this.

Are you by any chance using the WordPress SEO plugin? If so, go to SEO -> Permalinks in your blog’s Dashboard and make sure that “Redirect attachment URL’s to parent post URL” is not checked.
