Thank you for this plugin. I did some tests to myself and when I click on the link to the product that it shows is in my cart, I get the message “link expired” and that’s all it says. I copied the link URL in the email I received – https://jrmhockeyart.com/?wcal_action=track_links&validate=ngMJUwhy61tXpeYe8KV%2FJ6ASMhMsya9hlVyfpyF78p4tSHfsckwi61XbSAA%3D

In the email template I also included a link to the cart and that seems to work properly, except sometimes it shows the item in the cart and sometimes it says the cart is empty. Do you know how long it keeps an item in the cart if people don’t have an account? I mainly want to fix the link showing beside the product because I don’t have control over that – the product info is automatically generated in the email template, and I want to make sure if people click on it that it goes somewhere and doesn’t give that error message. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi,

Thank you for sharing encoded URL with us.

    1) Expired link issue:

I have abandoned a cart on your site as a guest user and I have clicked on product name from the abandoned cart reminder email and it is working fine. It doesn’t show the Link expired message.

Can you please check your abandoned cart is exist in the Abandoned Order list on your site? As the cart link will show “Link Expired” message from our plugin when the abandoned cart does not exist in the Abandoned Order list and the user tries to access the cart link from abandoned cart reminder email.?

If you wish then I can share with you the video here where the cart link is working fine.

    2) Another query:

I have noticed in the email that you have added cart page URL of your site in the email template( Screenshot: https://www.screencast.com/t/2TraqIvSP94 ). So, when the customer clicks on the “Continue your order” link, the cart will be empty and it doesn’t allow to the customer for recovering the abandoned cart.

Sometimes, it shows the product in the cart because of cache. If the user still in the same session and not closed the window or not cleared the cache of the browser after abandoning the cart and come to the site from email, then it will show the product into the cart and the cart page link will work. But our plugin will not consider the cart as “Recovered” when the user will place an order.

To resolve this, you would need to use merge tags “{{cart.link}}” for cart page. So if the user will click on the “Continue your order” link, then the cart details and user information can be populated on the Cart and checkout page and once the user will recover the cart, our plugin will show it in the “Recovered Orders” tab.

Just one thing you need to take care that you don’t need to add https:// or https:// before the cart and checkout merge tags like this: https://www.screencast.com/t/JhYyq83a0T3s

Can you please make this changes and let me know whether cart link is working fine or not? I hope that helps.

    >>Do you know how long it keeps an item in the cart if people don’t have an account?

The product will be there in the cart until the user places an order. Please let me know if you have any further queries.

    Regards,
    Chetna Bhutka
