I’ve been asked to add multilingualism to an existing Dutch website. Instead of completely building the English pages from scratch, I’ve duplicated the existing Dutch pages and translated them into English and saved them. I’ve also done that for the homepage. Now I’ve been able to specifiy the language of each page to Dutch or English. But Polylang keeps prompting me to set an English homepage. When I click on the prompt, it automatically forces me to build a new page. How can I tell Polylang which existing page (in English) has to be set for the English (static) homepage?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello,

I suggest that you read the sixth step of our Getting started doc: https://polylang.pro/doc/translating-pages-posts-categories-and-tags/

Once your 2 pages will be linked together, Polylang will automatically detect that the translation of your homepage is the homepage in the other language.

Hey Chouby, thanks for your reply! I’ve seen that but if I understand correctly, that step allows you to add a *new* page (and build it from scratch). I’ve already made all the English pages by copying the existing Dutch pages and translating the text to English. I would like to know how to tell Polylang what my (existing) English page is by selecting it, rather than building it up completely from scratch.
