Link to filtered view possible?

When displaying posts with filters, is there a way to pass a value via URL that will filter the content on load? For instance a post listing of Fruits with filters for Apple, Oranges, Pears… but if the page is linked to with say page.com/fruits#pears – it would activate that filter on page load? Usually accomplishable with other sort / filter features but since this uses data attributes and the url is in the filter is just # i’m unsure.
