• Hi,

I am using latest wordpress 5.2 with gutenberg latest version. In media library when I upload any image I have the option to add alt text and caption but there is no option attachement display settings like “Link To”, in which previously we were choosing media file to attach to same image or custom url to link to a custom page or image.

See screenshots images to better understand what I want to ask
this was in old wordpress – https://easywpguide.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/insert-media-link.jpg

This is not in new wordpress – https://prnt.sc/o2ho1o

Do we need to enable someway in fucntions.php file or wordpress have removed support for it for media library images ?

  • The Link To option only appears when inserting an image onto the page, not when you’re just uploading it to the media library from the Media page. Where was your second screenshot taken?

I just want to bump this again as I am also hoping for this feature.

The “Link to” option is totally gone?

    WHY?

Any solution for “Link to mediafile” that would open the image in a lightbox?

To answer for all who also missed it like me:

the link options are now handled by the Link Options on top, not in the block options.

Hi – I’m quite new to WordPress. I’ve found a workaround, it may not be the best way.

If you use a Paragraph Block and then insert an inline image it works. You click on the image and the link icon appears at the top of the block.
