    Hi
We have been updating our content recently and never had any problems. Ours is a very simple website.

The problem occurred when I deleted some media pictures and pdf files from the media folder in wordpress. These fed to pages on the site that I was about to update. I did not think it would be a problem as I was loading new pictures and new updated pdf’s.

When I go into the page and try to add a picture where the old one was, it will not allow me to save it. The same for a link on the page to a pdf file in the media folder. When I press update it does not save and goes to a page displaying “Nothing found, Maybe you want to perform a search”.

I have tried deleting the section containing the link and setting up a whole one, but it wont save the deletion. I have tried cloning the page but it does the same thing.

Some new pages I have set up dont seem to be affected.

    Thanks
    Rob

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi
Sorry, just to add. It will let me save in the section but it will not let me update the page with the changes
    Thanks

Perhaps try opening up the Media Library (Media -> Library on the left menu) and try removing the files you deleted from there and then trying.

I’m assuming the error has something to do with the file location still being stored in the database, but the actual file missing.

    Hi
Thanks for the reply. I think this is what caused the problem to begin with. I deleted the files in the media library while the links were still active on the other pages.

Now when I go into the pages to overwrite the link or add a replacement photo, it wont let me update the page with the changes, or even delete the offending link and update.

    Thanks
    Rob

    Rob,

Is the image used as a “featured image” of the post? Did you try editing the HTML of the page itself?
