Link tracking for referals to our posts in other sites

    Hi, I realize “referrals” may not the the correct term, but what I am looking for is a way to get statistics on how much our wordpress content links are used on other sites. Something like a plugin that will automatically add a code to all of our wordpress URLs so that we can track traffic statistics not only on google analytics internal links and outgoing links, but also on links of ours that other people use (refer to) in external websites. I’ve looked into several link tracking and referral plugins, such as Pretty links, simpleURLs etc but they don’t seem to do that – the most they do is allow manual creation of new links to be tracked. I don’t want my editors to have to create a new custom URL for every blog post. I want the plugin to do it automatically for any new post.

    Pretty Link Pro can create short links for each post, page, cpt automatically. Hope that helps!

    Hi, thanks for this- it might be part of the solution. We also want to track 2nd level sharers- i.e. not only sites that mention our posts, but other sites that refer to these sites (i.e. don’t mention our posts directly but mention sites who mention our posts… if you catch my drift… ) impossible?
