• Hi,

I’m wondering what type of link validation is used for user submission of links. I searched and couldn’t find any details about what file types are allowed or if there is anyway to modify rules, etc. I’ve noticed that .PDF links return an error on submission.

    Thanks

What type of error are you getting on submission? To be sure, when you say that this is a pdf link, you mean something like this?

    https://www.canada.ca/content/dam/cra-arc/formspubs/pub/5000-g/5000g-17e.pdf

Or are you trying to submit a link with a protocol other than http or https? If you are trying to submit a link with a different protocol, you need to have added the additional protocols in the plugin’s general options.

Let me know if this helps and please consider donating to support this plugin’s development.

Actually, I tested again and it seems I’m getting the error no matter what type of link it is.

    “Link submission error”

    Any thoughts?

Link submission error means that Akismet identified the link as spam. The first thing to check here would be to deactivate the option “Validate links with Akismet” under the User Submission tab of library configuration.
