    Hello,

We are dealing with a strange issue that just started happening recently and we don’t know why. We have not added or removed any plugins, and we have not changed our theme.

The issue is that we are suddenly not able to see the correct products when searching for Up-sells or Cross-sells that we would like to show for Linked Products.

When we go to the Product Data panel, select the Linked Products tab, then try searching for the products we want to link to, list shows product titles that do not match our search word.

For example, we have many different products with the title “Follow Your Dreams,” such as:

    Follow Your Dreams T-shirt
    Follow Your Dreams Sweatshirt
    Follow Your Dreams Throw Pillow
    Follow Your Dreams Mug
    Etc.

To search for Linked Products, we use the word ‘dream’ — but none of the products with the word ‘dream’ show in the list. We also tried using the word ‘follow’ — but still the products don’t show. Instead, we get other products that are not part of the “Follow Your Dreams” collection.

Any idea what is going on? We never had this problem before when searching for Linked Products, so we can’t seem to figure out why it is happening now.

    Please advise.

    Thank you,

    -M

    Hi @clairporium,

That’s a bit strange! First, take a full backup of your site and database and then there are some steps that you can follow and try to fix the search issue.

    1. Clean up your WooCommerce database using a plugin like WP optimize.
    2. Make sure you upgrade to the latest versions of WordPress and WooCommerce.
    3. If you have installed caching plugins delete them and purge all data.
    4. Upgrade your WooCommerce database and fix possible corrupted database.
    5. Lastly, deactivate all plugins except WooCommerce and activate a default theme like Storefront. Check if the search feature works correctly after all these steps.

Kindly let us know how that goes!

    Hello Mirko,

We did try some of those steps already, such as:

    1. Used WP Optimize to cleanup the database
    2. WordPress and WooCommerce are already up-to-date
    3. Disabled caching plugins; used WP Optimize to clean up again
    4. WooCoomerce database update

Also, we tried to regenerate the product tables, and this sort of worked. We got some products to come up in the search, but not all of them.

We will try step 5 now.

    Thanks,
    M
