  • I have this same problem on my site. When someone tries to share a page using the LinkedIn sharing button it gives an error that says:

“Too many redirects occurred trying to open…(gives page link). This might occur if you open a page that is redirected to open another page which then is redirected to open the original page.”

I’m not sure why a redirect error should occur since the sharers are already logged into their LinkedIn accounts. I already tried to remove and re-add the LinkedIn button but it still gives the error.

Does anyone have any solutions for this?

    Thanks.

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

That’s indeed a known issue with the current version of Jetpack. It will be fixed in the next release, but if you’d like you can apply the following changes to your site now:
    https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/commit/9876b527daa4f47f5cff59614e25f9c65ee308a8

Thanks for the fix Jeremy. I also came across the same problem today but making the changes doesn’t seem to fix the problem.

    Thanks

@toneyo Could you post your site URL here, so I can have a look?

If you want it to remain private, you can also contact us via this contact form:

Thanks Jeremy. Looks like a cache flush sorted it out.
