When I share content on LinkedIn I noticed that my page title was not coming up, the card has my page name on it instead. As in my page name is “Newsletter” but my title is “3 writing tips to attract more business (PDF)”

After poking around a bit I discovered LinkedIn is taking the title from oEmbed xml file, not from open graph tags.

However I can’t find anywhere in The SEO Framework to set oEmbed details. The only oEmbed setting I see is “remove author name”.

Is there a way to push SEO settings to oEmbed xml file?

Thanks for any pointers or help!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello!

Following up from this thread, I’m currently considering adding more control to the oEmbed output, as our provisional changelog for the next minor update suggests. Aside from adjusting the images, I’m also considering enhancing the title via The SEO Framework.

So, you may get what you ask for sooner than later, and that’s a good thing ??

Until then, I think it’s good to account that LinkedIn falls back to Open Graph–over which you have more control with via The SEO Framework. If oEmbed isn’t working out for you right now, and you’re not expecting anyone to embed your content on their website, you may want to consider disabling the oEmbed scripts. You can find the toggle for this under the Social Meta Settings’ general tab.

Ignore this bump: bbPress messed up downstream and didn’t catch my reply well. This reply should refresh its cache and send a proper “replied” email.

Thank you so much for your swift reply! That would be great, I look forward ot those changes. In the meantime I think I can safely toggle oEmbed off, so thank you for pointing me to that option.

Love this plugin by the way, thank you for your work!

    Hi Frank!

TSF v4.1.1 is now available, and you can now find the option you’re looking for under “SEO Settings > Social Meta Settings > oEmbed > Use Open Graph title?”.

It will take the title as depicted on the post-edit screen, under “Social > Open Graph Title”, either as generated or manually inputted.
