    Hi

The LinkedIn share button won’t share some of my pages.

It gives me the LinkedIn error message “Oops! It’s not you. It’s us. Give it another try, please.” And the “Try again” button won’t work.

It does work on the home page though.

I have read elsewhere that it may be because my content is longer than 250 characters. But my Twitter button works fine.

And I’m positive this button was working a few weeks ago.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks

    Heather

  • Hi Heather,

I would be happy to take a look at this. Can you provide me with the exact URL where you are seeing the issue?

    Thanks!

    Hi

This is the blog page where it is not working https://www.beaminsure.co.uk/blog/

This is also not working on a lot of other pages.

    Thanks

    Heather

I am not able to access the page. Here is the warning that I see when I try to visit the URL that you provided: https://www.screencast.com/t/qkuQcyKpLFkq

It looks like LinkedIn and Facebook are not able to access the page either:

If LinkedIn’s scraper cannot access the URL then LinkedIn cannot properly share the URL. This seems to be the reason for the issue.

Please let me know if you have any questions about that!

    Thanks,
    Kristin

    Hi @addthiskristin

    Thanks for your reply.

The only reason I can think that could stop other sites scraping my site is that I have installed Wordfence Pro and have a country block for every user outside of the UK.

    Would this cause the problem?

    Thanks

    Heather

    Hi Heather,

Yes, since LinkedIn’s scraper is located outside of the UK, it will not be able to access your site in order to share it.

You would need to disable that particular setting in order to allow LinkedIn and other social networks to access your site.

Let me know if you have any questions about that!
