I’m new to WordPress and am trying to use it as a ligthweight CMS for my company’s corporate site. I would like to find a better way to build links from body content in one page on my site to another page than entering the URL. Let me give an example of what I would like to have. Let’s say I have a ‘home’ page at example.com/ , an ‘about us’ page at example.com/about-us/ and a ‘team’ page at example.com/about-us/team/ .

On the home page, I have some text about our team, and I’d like to link that to the team page. Here’s what I would like to see:
    1. A link-builder that lets me choose from existing pages in my WordPress site (so I could simply pick the ‘team’ page from a list of existing pages, rather than entering the URL by hand).
    2. Something that’s smart enough to know that if I change the permalink for the ‘team’ page to example.com/about-us/meet-our-team/ , links to the original ‘team’ page will now point to the new permalink address.

Is this possible in WordPress? Will I need a plug-in to achieve this? I’ve searched for something like this but haven’t found it yet.

    Thanks in advance…

Not sure if this would help you or not, but I have a plugin installed that is called SEO Smart Link and what it does is similar to what you see on Wilkepedia where it links certain relative key phrases to respective posts or pages within your WordPress site. It does this automatically, so if you create a post or page and word it so that it matches what you want it to link to, it will.

For example, if you create a “Team” page, anything you write that has the word “team” in it, would automatically link to your team page.

Hi Todd, thanks for the tip.

I am not sure that I want to link every instance of ‘team’ on my site to my team page, so I don’t know if your plugin is exactly what I need.

In the meantime, I’ve found another plugin that seems pretty good and looks like it will meet my needs. I’ve installed it and am testing it out at the moment:

This is what solved for me. The “Blog in Blog” plug in was the answer and worked perfectly!
