Linking body text to Pages inside a WordPress site
-
I’m new to WordPress and am trying to use it as a ligthweight CMS for my company’s corporate site. I would like to find a better way to build links from body content in one page on my site to another page than entering the URL. Let me give an example of what I would like to have. Let’s say I have a ‘home’ page at example.com/ , an ‘about us’ page at example.com/about-us/ and a ‘team’ page at example.com/about-us/team/ .
On the home page, I have some text about our team, and I’d like to link that to the team page. Here’s what I would like to see:
1. A link-builder that lets me choose from existing pages in my WordPress site (so I could simply pick the ‘team’ page from a list of existing pages, rather than entering the URL by hand).
2. Something that’s smart enough to know that if I change the permalink for the ‘team’ page to example.com/about-us/meet-our-team/ , links to the original ‘team’ page will now point to the new permalink address. Is this possible in WordPress? Will I need a plug-in to achieve this? I’ve searched for something like this but haven’t found it yet.
Thanks in advance…
