I recently made the update to the newest version. Now when I insert affiliate-links in my post I always get the following message:

You’re linking to another page with the focus keyword you want this page to rank for. Consider changing that if you truly want this page to rank.

My affiliate-links are nofollow and I do use the same keyword 2-3 times to link to Amazon. I didn’t ahd this issue before the update.

So my question is: Since I am using nofollow links it should be OK or not?

  • It is ok to use nofollow attribute for your affiliate links.
the only problem you are using the keywords as anchor text in those affiliate links that you need to rank for. since they are nofollow, they will not pass link juice, but they will benefit the product links you link to, since nofollow links also a minimum amount of juice.

it is not recommended as a best practice. so try to use other words for anchors.
