I installed the Facebook plugin today and it suggested update so I did. when I try to connect it stuck after confirming the details of my accounts and permissions. I wish I could upload a screenshot to show what I mean. it keeps going to connect and no matter how long I stay, it doesn’t connect.

  • Hi @kkalaly,

Thanks for reaching out about Facebook for WooCommerce! I’m sorry that you’re running into this issue with getting connected, but I’ll be happy to help.

To upload a screenshot, I would recommend using a free media sharing service such as Cloudup, which will allow you to upload a screenshot to their service and give you a link that you can send us. Could you please try sending a screenshot using a method like this? If you are unable to do so, could you copy / paste any errors or messages that you are seeing when this happens?

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

    Hi @kkalaly,

Thanks for sending those links! Unfortunately I am not able to get the images to open. Would you be able to try sharing them using a different method?

In the meantime, could you also confirm which version of the plugin you’re running? If you’re not yet on 2.1.4, could you please go ahead and update to this version and give this another try?

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

Hi, I just updated to 2.1.4, it says Oops, something went wrong.
This may be because of a technical error that we’re working to get fixed. Try reloading this page. this time didn’t stuck like before.

    Hi @kkalaly,

Thanks for running the update. As this error that you’re seeing isn’t very informative, we have a snippet that will give us some additional error information, which may give us a better indication as to what might be happening here. Can you please add the following snippet to your site and attempt to connect to Facebook again? If you aren’t familiar with adding custom code to your site, here is some information as to how to do it. Personally, I like the free Code Snippets plugin method.

You can view the snippet here:

    add_filter( ‘wc_facebook_connection_proxy_url’, function() { return ‘https://wc-connect-test.skyverge.com/auth/facebook/’;} );

Once the snippet is in place and you have had a chance to try to connect to Facebook again, would you please send a screenshot or text of any additional error messages that show?

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

    Hey @kkalaly,

It’s been a while since we heard from you, so I’m going to mark this topic as resolved. If you’re still experiencing issues please take a look at our documentation for more information and create a new thread if you have further questions. We’ll be happy to help further from there! ??

    Thanks,

    Jennifer
