• After the most recent update of WordPress, we’ve noticed that any word used in the text of a page or post that happens to match the title of another page or post is automatically converted to a hyperlink. This itself is a problem but to make it even a bit stranger, the hyperlink that gets created isn’t necessarily to the page with that title.

Example.. we have a page named “Submit” .. on another page, we have some text above a form that tells the user to complete the form and click submit… the word submit was converted to a hyperlink.

The only resolution was to alter the text where we saw this happen to not use a word that happened to match a page name. Has anyone else seen this? If so, any workaround to just stop this behavior?

    thanks,

    Jim

  • That’s not WordPress core functionality. Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Try killing your plugins and testing….

Then switching to twentyeleven and testing

It sounds like aplugin gone wonky, but could be a theme issue
