    UPDATE: The problem indeed lies with my VPS server configuration on Digital Ocean. A friend was able to migrate my WordPress site file just fine, so we know the problem is not the plugin and at this point I’ve already sunk too many hours into it with no resolution to continue (just tired of looking at it!). I’ll be moving the site to a hosting service that works a little more smoothly with wordpress. Thanks anyways!
