Links do not open to url

  • I have added links to my website. Some open properly and others open to an Avant browser search page. All of the links downloaded from esellerate do not open to the target url. but open to the search page…..their techs do not have an answer. I hope someone here has had the same problem and has the fix….Thanks much –

    Found a possibility during a searh…could these links be framed?…if so, how do you get them un-framed?

    A link to your site, where we can see the offending links might make it possible for us to assist…

    Looks like it’s the way you’ve pasted in your links.

    A load of themlook like this:

    <a href="https://<a href="https://store.eSellerate.net/a.asp?c=1_SKU49243943998_AFL8994387948&at=">Buy Bread Machine Cookbook Ebook Only</a>" title="You name it bread reciepes for bread machines">The Ultimate Bread Machine Cookbook</a>

    At a guess, you’ve been given the code to insert in a page to add a link with link text, and you’ve pasted all that code into the link box instead of just the link itself.

    So where you should have put in:

    https://some.link.com/wotsit

    You’ve put in

    <a href="https://some.link.com.wotsit">click this</a>

    And WP has wrapped that whole thing in <a href stuff that it normally does.
