Links in posts are being followed by my server?

I notice that every time I make a post with a link in it, worpress follows that link.

For tracking reasons I post links not directly to a page but to a redirect script like this

https://mysite.com/goto.php?site=https://yoursite.com

It logs the click in my click log. For some reason, my own server seems to go nuts following these links. Is that for trackback or something? How can I change this? it’s messing with my logs.

I’ve searched and searched and finally made an account here to ask because I cannot find a solution. Probably since I don’t know the right question to ask.
