links manager not updating blogroll

  • Heya
    I’ve been using successfully for a while the link manager as built in WP for my blogroll, but all of a sudden it’s no longer updating the “freshness” (last updated on …)
    I’m suspicious about a few changes the server admin may have done, so is there a way I can test things ?
    I have no clue how the link manager works regarding to weblogs.com/changes.xml …. Any way to force refresh ? Any way to diagnose what’s going wrong ?

  • You could look to see if your /wp-content/links-update-cache.xml is getting updated. If not, your host may have restricted some PHP functions.
    As I recall, errors are supressed for the retrieval of that file, so if it’s not getting the file, you won’t get an error.

    unfortunately, it seems the following line has no longer effect :

    $a = @file(get_settings('weblogs_xml_url'));

    Guess I’ll have to set up an alternative way of things …
