Links messed up in posts when quotes are used?

  • I wrote a new entry with some links in it and they were all screwed up. Weird stuff happens when you put quotes around the URL, i.e. blahblah, but isn’t that proper HTML?

    Hmm. I see it works on this forum, just not in WP for me.

    Could it be because I was composing in Word and it insists on using “smart quotes”?

    Edit the post and see. It appears the source has the correct code but if the quotes are not correct then that will be what happens.

    Boom goes the dynamite! Now you will probably get a few posts that say “Never use Word”, use a text editor like Editpad, etc.
