• Hi
When I am linking text in a post or page to uploaded media the link doesn’t show up, only the plain text.

Is there something I need to do/check?

Thanks

How are you adding the link? Can you provide a detailed list of the steps you’re taking?

Also it’s generally helpful to provide the version of WordPress you’re using, what theme, and the URL of the site if it is public when asking for help in the forums.

I’m using WP v4.1 and theme is Twenty Twelve (Child).

I upload my media to the library:
1. Click on +New
2. Click on Media
3. Drag and drop the file into the Drop Area
4. Once uploaded I click on Edit next to the uploaded file
5. Copy the File URL

I then create a new post or open an existing page, type out my text, highlight the text i want to link my file to, click on the paperclip, past the File URL in the URL box and click on the Add Link button.

I then choose my Format and Categories and then Publish.

I have only happened in the last couple of days, sinceI have had to un publish my stream page which is connected to my BuddyPress – Could this have anything to do with it. However, I have re published the page and repaired the BP Links but the problem is still there.

Please share site url

Everything has been working fine, just recently I’ve tried to add new posts (newsletters) and re link to newly updated policy documents (but it deletes the link text on publishing.

Eg is the SEND policy page. it should be:

Please read the schools SEND policy:

[link to SEND Policy PDF]Newham Bridge Primary School SEND Policy [link]

But the Newham Bridge Primary School SEND Policy text/link disappears when published

Go to text edit mode and use
SEND

I’ve tried that and still disappears. As soon as I take out the tags or remove the link from the text, the text appears.
