Links not working in sidebar

On my blog’s sidebar (www.elizabethlyons.com/blog) I have several images that are intended to link to outside sites (my twitter account, facebook account, donations page for a charitable organization, etc.).

When you roll over the images, the links show up, but when you click on them nothing happens. The code I’m using is:

<a href="[link name]"><img src="[source location]"></a href]

This is the same code I use successfully all over the website, but it appears not to work the same way in the sidebar widget.

HELP PLEASE! ??
