I’m using the links manager to handle internal as well as external links. When I try to use edit or add link form, it always appends https:// to everything, even the internal links. What this does is forces me to use “https://www.mydomain.com/about.php” in the field instead of just “about.php”. When I type in just “about.php” it forces it to “https://about.php”.

Is there any way to fix this? I’ve looked through all the files and I cannot see where it is force prepending the “https://” to the URL.

I searched through the forums and I could not find where anyone has asked this previously.

I am using the current release version of WordPress.

The link needs to be specified in it’s completeness. There are no “local” urls. This is mainly because what works on the main page won’t work on the category pages or archives, where the permalinks make it look like you are in a different directory.

So please type in the complete URL ??
