• All i did was swap domains and have tried everything in the book to get the options to save down…..all i get is a 404 error.
The scripts are still pulling from the old domain and are not relative but fixed.

I have tried nearly twenty different forums where somebody has the same problem.

I have even striped the database to pieces to strip out the old domain (find and replace), i have tried the debug solution (with the extension thingy, forget what it is called now), changed the table name, tried the permalink solution, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc

    thx

  • @dunavista Have you tried the reset button in “Reset Options”?

    Hi Tizz

Yes i tried that, also get the 404 error.

    Many Thx!

Hi @dunavista – In almost all cases, the URL you’re referring to is related to a stored absolute URL affecting the behavior of lightboxes, and it only affect sites being migrated from one URL to another.

As Tizz notes, in almost all cases, hitting the reset button has addressed that, so we’re a bit surprised that’s not working. If you’d like to submit a bug report, we can probably take a closer look.

Just so you know, our next release has a permanent fix for this issue by shifting all lightboxes to relative URLs as they should be. That release will hopefully be available in beta version by next week, with release either next week or the week after.

    Okay cool thanks!

By some miracle i installed “Easy FancyBox” plugin and all is okay.

Those links i was talking about were fixed on pulling the “fancy box” option in the pull down(instead of say lightbox or shutter) I can still clearly see that it is still trying to pull the fancy box from the old site. They still appear linking to the old site BTW.

Where i got lucky i think the “easy fancybox” plugin is taking preference over the internal fancybox that comes with NextGen.
I am no programmer, just what i thought was the case – as when i disable the “easy fancybox” i go back to my original problem.

So perhaps i will wait for the update and let you know what happens.

    thx

@dunavista – I’m glad you were able to find a work-around but that is not necessarily the solution. IF this issue continues to persist with the next release, please submit a Bug Report (https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) so we can get a closer look at your site to see what may be going on there.

You are also more than welcome to submit a Bug Report sooner if you wish as well. We will need log in and FTP credentials for your WordPress installation as well, please include those with your Bug Report.

    Thanks!

Clicking reset without any option to preserve or return to existing settings is a total pain. It takes ages to set all the preferences.
And will the beta release cure existing addressing problems? I have the same/similar problem and have just started a similar thread here

I tried the reset button and it worked for me.
