links to email addresses

If you are working in the Visual editor, just highlight the text you want to use for the link and then click the link button at the top of the editor and then paste your link into that feature’s dialogue box. After that, what you have should look something like this in the text editor:
<a title="mailto:[email protected]" href="mailto:[email protected]">Contact Us</a>

That seems to work, and it is best here in the forums to use the “code” button before and after things like that…and I suspect you posted something like this:
<a href="https://mailto:[email protected]">me</a>

Then, the reason I use the text editor is so I can add a hover title so the reader can see where s/he is headed:
<a title="https://mailto:[email protected]" href="https://mailto:[email protected]">me</a>
