Links to languages not appearing in widget menu

    I have a multisite setup with 3 sites in 3 languages, as follows:

    domain.com/subdirectory/ – main site in Spanish
    domain.com/subdirectory/en – english version of the site
    domain.com/subdirectory/fr – french version of the site

    The plugin is activated for the network and appears in the admin of all 3 sites. Each site is configured to it’s correct language in Settings > General. Each site has content.

    However, in the Spanish site, the language switcher plugin displays the ‘you must activate other languages…’ message, and no links to French or English.

    In the French site, only the English link is displayed (I do not want a link to French from within the French site, so this is a start but I need the Spanish site link to display as well).

    The same happens for English. Also, in the plugin configuration screen it only shows links to the French and English sites (when on French or English) but does not show Spanish. When in the Spanish config page, neither French or English is shown.

    I think I’ve solved the problem…

    I added all user roles for each site to all the other sites and the plug-in is now working perfectly on all sites. Do you know if this would have occurred with adding just the super-administrator role (as this is a multi-site installation) to each site as a user? Or do all sites need all the users to be listed?
