    Hi,

Are you trying to clone a site to a different URL? i.e. Site is at https://example.com, and you’re trying to restore it at https://restore-somewhere-else.com ?

When you try that, the free edition of UpdraftPlus should show you a warning that it does not contain the code necessary to do that successfully; site cloning is not a feature of the free version of UpdraftPlus. Presumably you clicked through that warning when it showed up?

Yes, that’s exactly what I was trying to do and Yes a warning did show (even though I didn’t take time to read it carefully). So on the paid version it can work seamlessly?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Yes… the paid version includes the extra code which we wrote that adjusts the database from a different source site so that it fits the destination. (i.e. It’s not an arbitrary limit we put in to annoy people – it is a genuine extra feature, with many hours of testing and debugging behind it!).

    Okay, thanks
