links to video in new window from sidebar?

  • I am looking for a widget similar to nextgen gallery but for video. Essentially, placing thumbnails in the sidebar that link to a video which either opens in a new pop-up video window or opens similar to thickbox as an overlay like nextgen gallery.
    I searched and found widgets that embed video in posts (simple flash video) but not from the sidebar. This plug in did not work for me anyway when I tried it.
    Now I have seen a few members request similar widgets/plugins but I do not want youtube or vimeo videos – this is for my own content, on my own server.
    Also, a widget that just opens up a new pop-up window would be fine, as I could tailor this to hold video which are all a fixed size of 640×360. (Little bit like how the trailers open up on the Apple QT site).
    I am running 2.9 with fusion theme. My site is at emptymindfilms.com
