List items on front end from wysiwyg

is the actual content stripping out the html as well? or is it there but simply behaving oddly?

Have you looked over the documentation/notes at https://github.com/WebDevStudios/CMB2/wiki/Field-Types#wysiwyg as well? There may be information there that can help.
