List of all events in backend won’t load

I’m on version 2.8. I understand the instance of this WordPress might need some updating (just as the PHP is in the 5 range), but the problem just started happening recently with no other changes that i’m aware of.

I am able to load the page that lets you Add a new event, but I can’t load the page for all events. It just times out. Let me know what I can look into doing?

I ran wp-optimize to try to clean up the database a bit and it didn’t help.
