List of links in the backend has redundant entries making other links invisible

I installed the plugin in several of my WordPress installations. The problem I describe below is present in all blogs where I use the link list feature.
The import of existing links from the discontinued WordPress links list went fine, but I noticed that quite a few of my links are listed twice in the backend (but never on the same page).
If I delete a link, both instances of it are gone but only one of it shows up in the trash can. As soon if I restore it, it shows up twice again.
Since the link counter works correctly nevertheless, I looked closer and found out that double links are actually overriding other existing links, making them invisible (in the backend, not in the front end).
In other words: Some links are shown twice in the backend, some others not at all, the latter becoming visible when one of the “twin links” is deleted temporarily.
Would be glad if this glitch could be fixed in the next version… Thanks!
