The archive page is included with the plugin.

To display ALL your listings, use https://yourdomain.com/listings/

To display listings with the “Sold” status, use https://yourdomain.com/status/sold/

To display listings with the “Active” status, use https://yourdomain.com/status/active/

I have tried this & somethings not right: https://www.aienlettings.co.uk/listings/

Hi, I have installed the plugin and created 2 listings. I am developing on localhost. When I enter the URL localhost/websitename/listings/ I get the message:
    “Not Found
The requested URL /websitename/listings was not found on this server.”

Any idea on the solution ?

I can see a single page listing if I add the single listing to a custom menu and then access that. So the listings are being recorded but for some reason not showing within the listings directory – when I try the url localhost/websitename/status/active I also get the same message.

    Thanks

Ps I don’t have any of the template files in my theme folder that you ask people to remove..

The permalinks likely need to be reset. Reset your permalinks by visiting Settings > Permalinks and pressing Save.

Hi agentevolution, I appreciate alot your quick reply.

I tried what you suggested but I am still getting the same message when I try to access localhost/websitename/listings/

Were you proposing that I change the Permalink settings in any way ? As I understood you, you were saying not to make any change, just to click ‘save’.

Any other ideas on a solution?

Is there any other way I can display all of the listings other than with that url ?

    Thanks again..I appreciate your help..Dara

Depending on how your permalinks are configured you may need to change, but you shouldn’t need to if they are setup as the default postname structure.

Whatever the error it is a permalink issue. When you go to a single listing, you mentioned it displays fine. Remove the last part of that URL and that should be the listing archive page.

Also try adding a search parameter to the end of your home URL:
    /localhost/sitename/?s&post_type=listing

That should display the search results for all listing post types in the same format as the listing archive page.

Hi agentevolution, the search parameter solution worked…thanks alot !

Is the best way then for me to use your plugin that I should put this url ( including a search parameter ) behind a link and when the user clicks the link they will get the listings ?

Also I experimented there with adding extra parameters to the query string and it seems to work well if for example I have /localhost/sitename/?s&post_type=listing&status=active ( to get the active listings )..Presumably the other parameters are locations, features and ‘property-types'(?) ?

FYI my permalinks are set to ‘default’ rather than ‘post name’ – maybe that’s why the regular solution isnt working for me..

On a separate issue, I am seeing many elements ( search box, Pages list, Categories list, Archive ) that normally are in a sidebar right in the middle of my Listings page..Actually my theme doesnt have a sidebar..is there a way to stop these sidebar elements from appearing ?

You’re right on the other search parameters.

Switching the permalink structure to post name should take care of your issue so you can access it via the normal URL. The query string is really just a workaround to see if anything displays.

You could hide those extra elements using CSS. They shouldn’t be displaying if your theme doesn’t have a sidebar, because the templates in the plugin do not call for sidebars either. Hard to troubleshoot without actually seeing it.

Thanks for all your time and effort and so fast also !..I’ll be sure to make a donation..Dara

Hi agentrevolution, I have tried & tried to find the single-listing.php template file to upload & even followed the youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0oDu6ZBkeJg on how to install it but I’m none the wiser.

    Please advise.

    Thanks

@agentevolution I still have the issue with my archive page: https://www.aienlettings.co.uk/listings/

I would like it to look like the demo page: https://demo.wp-listings.com/listings/ including the widget.
