    In the pro version of the plugin the listing is being submitted before the payment has been processed.

    This means that customers can potentially submit a listing without making a payment. This creates all kinds of problems for my client.

    Is it possible to ensure that the listing submits only after payment has been processed?

    We are currently using the PayPal add on to take payment, although we will soon be moving across to Stripe.

    Thank you for your question!

    To prevent this from happening in the future, please set all listings to pending status so that the payment has time to process. That setting is under Directory Admin > Manage Options > Listings > Post/Category Settings. Just change “Default new post status” to pending and save your changes.

    The site owner will then be able to publish the listing manually once that payment is received.

    I should clarify that the listing is being saved to the website in ‘Pending’ mode before payment has been successfully processed.

    The email notifying the site admin of the successful submission of the listing is also being received prior to payment being processed.

    We currently have the setting you have mentioned above set to ‘Published’ as we do not want to manually approve every listing. Am I correct in my understanding that if we were to set that setting to ‘Pending’ we would then be required to manually approve every listing before they display on the site?

    Even with this setting set to ‘Published’ however we had a listing come through overnight that successfully submitted payment (using the PayPal add on), but the listing was still in ‘Pending’ mode this morning. Does it take some time for the listing to be automatically published?

    Is there any way that we can ensure that the new listing emails that site admins receive only send after payment has been successfully processed?

    Thanks for following up here. Answers to your questions inline below.

    It can take some time (a matter of hours) for the listing to update, so be sure to check that a little later. If you are seeing longer delays than that, please let me know.

    Right now, we don’t have a setting for this in the plugin. I can add an enhancement request for this, no problem. I think once you switch to Stripe this shouldn’t be an issue for you. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

    Thanks for the update @bobbied.

    We do want to fully automate the listing submission process, so we’re inclined not to set the now listing status to ‘pending’.
