listings are appearing on posts and I only want it on specific posts

Hi,
I have the listings appearing on posts that are irrelevant to the listing or the post. I have set up a kinda ‘time out’ guide to my local region and I don’t want the gig listing appearing on the movies posts or the attractions posts, for example. I have set up a specific post and just want the listings to appear there.
I have followed the basic instructions on setting up and even deactivated and reinstalled and it still had hold of my original listings (how does that work??)
Is there a way of being more specific in the settings that I can set it to appear on only the posts I insert the shortcode and not on every post?
