For whatever reason it default searches for “keyword” and “Location”

Those are just placeholders to indicate what the boxes are used for, not actual searches. ??

If you switch to a default theme, e.g. Twenty Sixteen, do jobs appear then?

Thanks for your response. I realize they are just placeholders, but my web page is actually searching for them when you first load the page. This means that the full list does not show unless you actually search for something. Someone just going to the page would just assume there are no jobs without showing the full list to start.

I did load the Twenty Fifteen theme before and it the plugin was working fine. I assume it is some conflict with my theme, but I can’t figure out what it is.

    Thanks

I think what’s happening is that you have a conflict with a placeholder shim script in your theme. (This is why switching themes to a default alleviates the issue.) These try to mimic HTML5 placeholders in order browsers which do not support them.

To fix, you’ll need to find the placeholder support JavaScript and comment it out/remove the script. You might need to contact your theme author for help with this, since I’m no an expert on JS frankly.

Let me know what you find out! Thanks!
