    Hello again,

I would like to know if there is a way to have all listings by alphabetical order. Right now, the featured ones show on top and then the free ones show in a second alphabetical order.

What i would like to have is all listings by alphabetical order.(only one alphabetical order for all instead of having 2 alphabetical orders) That way the featured ones in an other color fond and with a picture will stick out more among the others.

    Thanks

    Hi Chocotoff,

When you are using featured/sticky listings, they will always appear on top. The featured sort doesn’t currently have a way to “mix in” the featured listings as most folks want them at the top (where people tend to look anyhow).

I understand your point of view but if you get many featured listings which is the goal, they don’t stick out anymore as they all look alike. While, if there was an option to respect the alphabetical order you’ll get for example 4 free ones then one feature which will stand out then 2 free ….

There isn’t a way to get around this?

    Thanks

    Hi Chocotoff,

Right now, there’s no setting to change that. You could hack the plugin to alter the sorting behavior of featured/sticky listings if you know PHP and the WP API. Our customization guide here walks you through what files control which parts if you want to go that route: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/docs/customization-guide/

Note: when you make changes to the plugin, you’ll need to manually migrate those to updated versions of BD to keep up with bug fixes, just FYI.
