Thanks for this plugin, we’d really like to use it but have found a bug.

If the shortcode uses a category name that does not exist (ie. if it has been deleted or perhaps misspelled,) then instead of returning NOTHING, this plugin is returning all posts.

Could this be corrected at all to resolve to “No Post Found” like some of the other postlist plugins out there?

    Thanks so much!

This is not a bug. This is intentional and has been part of the plugin’s behaviour since the very beginning. The reason is that the LCP plugin uses native WordPress functionality whenever possible and WP_Query returns all latest posts when query parameters are incorrect (i.e. when you pass non-existent values).

There is an issue on Github that opened a discussion about changing this, very much in the direction you are proposing. But until now nobody’s seemed to be interested ??

My sincere apologizes for thinking this a bug then!

I will need to use another plugin then as we do not want to return misleading posts for our application.

If it ever becomes possible to use a parameter to allow the functionality to only return post that apply to the query, it would be greatly appreciated.

I will try another plugin now, but if you do implement this, I’d be back as I like a lot of the other features you offer here.

Thanks so much for your time and contribution to all of us!
