Litespeed Cache and SiteKit compatibility
-
I am seeing this error when I attempt to setup the SiteKit plugin on the dashboard page:
Looks like Site Kit is unable to place or detect tags on your site. This can be caused by using certain caching or maintenance mode plugins or your site’s frontend is configured on a different host or infrastructure than your administration dashboard.?
Just wondering if anyone has a fix for this?

Thanks for reaching out @ep0ch. I can see there is a Google Analytics tag placed on your site at present. Have you since been able to complete setup?
Note also that we have a guide on the plugin website in relation to this. If the error remains for you, please share Site Health information and we can investigate this further.
I am still getting this message after trying multiple different setups with Litespeed:

Here’s the site health:

I can’t seem to figure this one out!
Thanks for the update @ep0ch. Unfortunately the second screenshot you shared shows your Site Health status, as opposed to the contents of your Site Health information. Not to worry, we can perform a few additional checks. In order to do so, please share the following:
- Do you encounter the same pre-configuration warning if you temporarily deactivate Litespeed Cache?
- When attempting set up from a Chrome browser incognito window does the same occur?
Let me know if you have any questions with the above. If the same does occur, please share your full Site Health information via “Tools > Site Health > info > Copy site info to clipboard” using this form.
The warning goes away when Litespeed is disabled. Adsense and tracking are working normally... this problem is weird. Glad to hear that the warning goes away with LiteSpeed cache deactivated. It’s also not as strange as it sounds, as optimization plugins can reformat a sites html, reordering code snippets and performing various changes on your live site. This can result in Site Kit not locating the plugin inserted verification meta tag. This guide has more information on this.
Were you able to complete Site Kit set up after temporarily, while LiteSpeed Cache was deactivated? If you didn’t try this yet, please go ahead and do so. After you set up the plugin, you can enable LiteSpeed cache once more.
Let me know if you have any questions with the above.
