I’ve let the folks at LiteSpeed know, but I had quite a lot of issues with quizzes when LiteSpeed installed. After deleting the LiteSpeed plugin, LearnPress behaved properly.

Some of the issues were, login didn’t redirect to course page after logging in; quiz timer would display with wrong time (that is, a 2 hour quiz would initially display as 2 hours, 34 minutes); when clicking “Retake Quiz” button, new quiz wouldn’t load; clicking the “Start” button to begin taking a quiz did nothing; more.

Anyone else have an issue, or doesn’t have an issue, with LiteSpeed?

Or maybe not – could be issue with LearnPress database?

I migrated a website from one host to another. After migration, I installed LearnPress. But somehow, LearnPress found data relating to my old host. I installed the LearnPress import/export plugin and when I reviewed the database, it still has information relating to my old hosting provider.

Is there a way that this database can be corrected?

    Hi Frank B,

    Thank you for reaching out!

Regarding your issues with LiteSpeed, could you confirm if you’re using LiteSpeed hosting? We’ve tested LearnPress with a few LiteSpeed hosting environments and found it to work properly. However, for the issue where “login didn’t redirect to course page after logging in,” I recommend disabling the “cache static HTML” feature. This feature is ideal for static sites like blogs, but it can cause problems with dynamic sites like yours where content changes frequently, such as after logging in. In essence, the user may have already logged in or enrolled in the course, but because the HTML is cached, the system doesn’t recognize the change until the cache is cleared.

The issue with the quiz timer displaying incorrect times can also be related to JavaScript caching settings within your caching plugin. Disabling JavaScript caching should help resolve this issue.

As for the LearnPress Import/Export Add-on, it is based on WordPress’s export/import structure, and we’ve adapted it for LearnPress data. The database issue you’re describing should not affect the export/import process, but if you encounter any problems, feel free to reach out to us again for more detailed guidance.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

    Best regards,

    Hi,

    I am hosting with Hostinger.

From what I see, the LearnPress database did not update after migrating from Cloudways to Hostinger. The LearnPress database is still referencing my previous hosting provider (see screenshot).
    https://app.screencast.com/Rj4TlCy0rP5vX

I was prompted to update the database once but nothing updated. I went to LearnPress> Tools> Database> but my only option is “Re-create or create new indexes for tables.” I clicked that but it did not update my database.

I deactivated LiteSpeed to temporarily resolve the issue, but I now see the issue is with the LearnPress database not being updated.

Looking at my screenshot, I’m wonder if it’s possible to replace references to the Cloudways URL with Hostinger’s URL and re-upload the xml file?

    The site is thedronecoach.com

    Hi again Brian,

I swear this will level of technical oddities can cause one to loose their mind. ??

LearnPress just rolled out an update moments ago. After updating LearnPress, my LearnPress database was updated and it now reflects my current host’s URL, content, dates, etc. See this video screencast.
    https://app.screencast.com/MOkz49ZO0QECj

The video shows my LearnPress database as it was before the update and after the update. Is there a way that we can force a LearnPress database update?

I will bet LiteSpeed will now run properly but I’ll report back.

    Hi Frank,

Thank you for providing the additional details!

Regarding the base_site_url, it reflects the URL of the site that was used to export the course. Could you confirm if the XML file from Cloudways was exported when you were using LearnPress version 3.x.x? Knowing this will help us investigate further and provide a more accurate solution.

Once we have this information, we’ll check and get back to you with further guidance.

    Best regards,

It took a while but I did find an XML file located in the backup zip at
    public_html> wp-content> uploads> learnpress> export> export-courses-learnpress-20180331050855

I did not have LearnPress installed before the migration and in fact, it was deleted from thedronecoach.com years ago. I only re-installed it a few weeks ago.

I plan to migrate thedronecoach.io to Hostinger this weekend. Thedronecoach.io is my entire classroom with hundreds of students. I downloaded a backup zip and when I unzipped it, I found an old XML file in the sort-of same location:
    public_html> wp-content> uploads> learnpress> import> export-courses-learnpress-20180331050855

There was no “export” folder. I uploaded the .io backup to a staging site and it appears to be working well. This is the XML from the staging site.

Unfortunately, I am still having issues with LiteSpeed but, I am not seeing issues with the staging site. I tried deleting plugins etc., but nothing’s helping. Given I have a ghost Preview Course with thedronecoach.com, and since I’m have some issues, I may just perform a clean install of everything onto a new server and then see what happens.
