    Just to make sure I’m covering all bases before we test, Without adding the code:
    RewriteRule .* - [E=noabort:1]
    are you able to do a blank search without the Error 403?

    Just had a look and I can do a blank search without the Error 403 when I comment out RewriteRule .* - [E=noabort:1]

    Thanks for looking at it.

    Awesome! Let us do some research and see if there is a workaround for this. I have entered a bug report in our system for investigation.
