• When I log into the Dashboard, then Appearance, I click on Themes. I have the three default themes loaded, and they appear here. I click Customize on my active theme (twenty fourteen), and the Customize menu loads on the left but the preview/right side of the screen is blank. If I try to Live Preview any other theme, same result.
-Have used multiple computers & multiple browsers (Opera, Firefox, IE, -Chrome) and always same result.
-Tried re-installing 4.0 and same result
-Turned off all plug-ins and still problem persists
I use iPage for my site, so I contacted them. I asked them to validate installation and/or anything else they could. They said they can replicate the issue, but it isn’t anything on their end.
I searched through this site, and while I see this issue documented, did not find a clear solution.
    Can anyone help out?
I apologize up front, but I know very little about coding and whatnot, so please be gentle with responses.

site is up and running and functioning, and I can get in dashboard. but when I go to customize my theme at the following link I get the blank page: https://www.dudecheckthis.com/wp-admin/customize.php?theme=twentyfourteen

Since the customizer is in your password protected admin dashboard, I will not be able to see anything in there.
REMINDER: Do not share your password in the public support forum.

what are you trying to change about the theme?

i wanted to just play around at first to see what changes I could make, then I wanted to use the Live Preview to see how it would look on some of the other default themes.
so i guess I am not totally sure what I would like to change yet, but without the ability to see and/or customize anything I cannot figure it out either. ??
earlier i also tried uninstalling one of the other default themes and then re-installing (believe I used twenty twelve). still no luck.

what plugins are currently installed and activated in your dashboard?

    (@dudecheckthis)

Currently have the following (I did disable them all and still had the blank page result though):
    Akismet
    All in one Favicon
    Google XML Sitemaps
    Insert Headers and Footers
    Jetpack by WordPress.com
    W3 Total Cache

Today I also installed Updraftplus – Backup/Restore just in case in playing around I accidentally did harm.

Everything previously worked fine with all these plug-ins installed.

Very recently though I had installed something like WPTouch, but have since removed it. I’m not sure if that installation/removal played in for the issue, as I am not certain when it specifically started.

I have exactly the same thing. Live preview blank, just the customizer sidebar shows. No plugins at all.

I’m having this same problem with a blank live preview screen. I’ve seen so many other support topics with no solution….

Agreed – I still search around and see many threads but no solutions. Is this really the only support path for WordPress?

I have no idea what to try to resolve this. The only thing I could think would be have my host delete the entire WordPress directory and re-install completely from scrtach.

If I need to do that, I’d love input on how to retain my posts, since I’m getting pretty up there and would hate to lose anything. ??

    FOUND A SOLUTION!!!!

hope this helps the others of you that ran into my same problem. I found the following suuport thread, and I’ve copied the specific bit which got my preview/customization back:

    here’s what I changed:
Go to Settings -> General settings

Check WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL)

    The default should be https://yourdomainname.com

DO NOT add or change to something like https://www.yourdomainname.com

somehow the WOrdpress Address was set to the www variation. removing that fixed everything!
