• I’ve noticed a problem with Live Traffic which seems to have happened since the latest upgrade.

When viewing Live Traffic, everything seems fine.

If you leave Live Traffic by viewing something in another tab, for instance, and then return, the live traffic has stopped working. In the past, sometimes, it said ‘click in window to resume’ – that has never appeared since.

The only way to resume live viewing is to click on the live traffic link.

  • I too have had to click on Live Traffic above the WF Traffic window to advance the traffic after the update. Its not populating! Even when your watching it, its not working. Leaving the window has nothing to do with it. I am on the traffic windows for hours and the traffic just stops on two different sites.

I also deleted the site cache on both sites and its still not working on either. I thought there was no traffic but it had stopped populating for 50 minutes.

todd: “Even when your watching it, its not working”. – I suspected this but didn’t watch it long enough (I’m easily distracted)

    Hey @120filter,

This seems to be working for me. I’m testing on the latest version 7.4.5. If you’re up to date, it sounds like there might be a conflict either with the theme or one of the plugins you’re using, could you try temporarily switching to a default theme if you’re not already using one and disabling all other plugins then reactivating them one by one to see if the issue persists?

Also, can you please check the browser for any errors while you’re on the Live Traffic page?

    Please let me know.

    Hi,

I’m a local courier driver and have been using Live Traffic on my smartphone for years to monitor customer orders. I too have noticed Live Traffic often stops refreshing after about 15 minutes. This has always worked up until the last update.
Testing this further on my desktop gets the same results. ‘Pause live updates when window loses focus’ has always been set to OFF.
NOTE: My site gets very little traffic and I think this occurs during periods of no activity on the site. This may be the key in finding the answer as to why other sites don’t seem to have a problem.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hey All,

I still haven’t been able to recreate this. Would it be possible for you to set up a clone of your site to check for a plugin or theme conflict, if you’re able to reproduce it?

    Thanks,

    Gerroald

    Hi Gerroald,

Just a bit of feedback, your recent plugin update seems to have fixed the issue I was having. Live Traffic on both desktop and mobile devices has been updating consistently.

    Thank you,

    Ron

The latest update has cured the problem (as per what WP77 says).
