“Live Updates Paused” problem

That “feature” killed the ability to do a page search in a browser.

At least make it optional if it’s going to be there.

I will make sure to discuss this with the team, but I just want to make sure I understand you correctly regarding “It makes searching in the window impossible” part?
Because I can search this browser window for any keyword with “Live Updates Paused”, please check this screenshot.

As you can see in your screenshot, the screen is greyed out and barely legible. Also, the “updates paused” notification is potentially in the way. Don’t grey it out (why do that) and put the notification elsewhere.

Agreed – this is really irritating! How do we turn it off?

+1 this “Feature” serves no discernible purpose for users. Normally if I am running a scan, I am also doing other things on a different screen, and having to keep Wordfence focused as it crunches through a scan is a complete waste of resources.

From the “Wordfence Scan” page, open your javascript/developer console and run the following:

window.wordfenceAdmin.windowHasFocus = function(){return true}

This will overwrite the function checking for the focus, always returning true, and keeping it from showing that message and jamming up.

That doesn’t work for me. Function succeeds but behavior persists.
