ARRRGGHH! I’m having a weird issue with the Course Catalog. I put a link in my menu (below the My Account link) to the page where the course catalog is set up (in settings) and whenever it’s clicked (in Chrome), it logs the user out. I also have the parent My Accounts link in the menu and when that’s clicked, it goes back to the logged in state.

I also added the My Courses link under My Account to test to see if it happened with that page, and it works just fine but of course, it doesn’t show all the courses available, just the courses the user is signed into.
I also tried to create a separate page using the [lifterlms_courses] shortcode and added that to the menu (keeping the blank Courses archive page as the catalog page in Settings) and it’s still logging the user out.

Finally, I used the newly created Coruse Catalog page mentioned above in the Catalog Lifter settings and the same thing happens with logging the user out. This is not happening in Safari but it does also happen with Firefox.
I’ve updated to the latest version of LLMS. Any ideas on how to make this work?

    Please help!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • @nikkisart,

Where is the catalog page located? Can you provide me with the URL there.

I am having a hard time visualizing what you’ve described and I don’t see this exactly reflected on your site when I visit the link provided.

Are you sure your user is actually being logged out? It sounds like your maybe expecting something to look or function differently than it’s supposed to. I’m guessing that you’re expecting the catalog to look differently to a logged in user or something. But again, I’m not sure exactly what you’re reporting here.

Please provide me with some links so I can take a closer look.

    Thanks,

I’ve prepared a Screenshare Video for you to demonstrate what is happening. Maybe that will make it a bit more clear what is really happening.

    Thanks,

    @nicole,

This seems like we may be running into some kind of a caching issue but it’s kind of hard to tell.

If you have a caching plugin installed can you disable it and see if that fixes this issue? If it does, you’ll want to make sure you follow our caching FAQs to ensure that pages that *should display dynamic content* don’t get cached and you may also want to configure your caching plugin to not cache content for logged in users.

    Here’s the guide: https://lifterlms.com/docs/caching-issues-faqs/

The “duplicate” catalog occurs when you add the [lifterlms_courses] shortcode to the page configured as the course catalog. LifterLMS *automatically* adds the catalog list to the page configured as your catalog so if you add the shortcode it will output it twice! Bottom line: remove that shortcode.

The sidebar is likely a theme compatibility issue, take a look at our theme compatibility guidelines: https://lifterlms.com/docs/lifterlms-catalog-compatibility/

    Hope that helps,
