Load images from WordPress Media library

I saw that, but what the plugin does, is – it copies the images. And my question is is it possible to use the image from the WP library w/o duplicating the files?

I know you can import. But the problem is not that images are not imported, but after the import they are duplicated. NextGen keeps images in a separate folder structure that the WP library and this causes the image files to be twice in WP. The question was – Can NextGen Gallery USE (not import) the images loaded in the WP media library w/o copying them in a new folder.

@russidi – Importing the images from the Media Library will create a “duplicate” scenario of the main image (only) whereas importing from another folder provides the option to leave the images in that folder and use them from there.

Ok. But since I have all the images in the WP media library (incl. captions, name, etc.) what’s the best way to use the NextGen gallery w/o duplicating and entering all the captions again?

@russidi – To include all of those additional details you will need to re-add them. We do not have a solution or work-around at this time except to create those “duplicates”.

I think what you can do is just query the WP media db table after images are selected and insert the new records in your tables with all the properties (including the location) w/o copying the images.
